MARTY NIEWIND - President/Owner

JODY SCHULTZ - Project Manager

CN CONSTRUCTION, INC.

My father, Chuck Niewind, started the company in 1978. I started accompanying my father and helping at job sites from the age of 12 until age 18. I then attended Northwest Technical Institute in 1994 where I received my associate's degree in Architectural Drafting & Design Technology. After college I worked for Wausau Homes for 2 years before returning to Grand Rapids in 1998 to join my father's company as a full-time carpenter. In 1999 I became a licensed residential general contractor and in 2011 I purchased the company from my father and took over. Chuck is still involved as a consultant and project manager. I'm continuing his tradition of establishing relationships with customers and gaining their trust through our high standard of quality, performance and customer service. I personally oversee the construction of all our projects and am onsite working as well.

When time allows I enjoy most outdoor activities that Northern Minnesota has to offer: hunting, fishing, motorcycling and spending time with my friends, family and dog Butch.

I am an active member and current President of the Grand Rapids Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society along with being a Huntsmen. I am also a member and the current President of the Northern MN Builders Asscoication.

Marty and I met while attending Northwest Technical Institute where I also received my associate's degree in Architectural Drafting and Design Technology in 1996. After college I went into the Commercial side of construction as a drafter/estimator, scheduler and then from 2006-2014 I worked as a Project Manager for a General Contractor. In 2015 Marty asked me to join CN Construction, Inc. as his Project Manager and I accepted. I wanted to get back to Residential construction and working with all the details involved with home owners.

As a Project Manager I'm required to be well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize and I do these very well. I have a high standard that I base my work on and I feel that is why Marty and I work so well together. We are both very detail oriented, communicate well and want to make sure all our clients are 100% satisfied. Interaction with people is what I love most about my job. I communicate daily with our clients; sub-contractors; suppliers; and our crew and I feel that communication is one of the key factors on keeping a project on schedule and on/under budget. I take pride in the quality of our work and our customer service.

My husband Aaron and I along with our daughter Avery are excited to have moved to the Grand Rapids area where we can now enjoy in our free time: fishing, camping, hunting, hiking, snowmobiling and being involved in a community that has that small town feel.
